In the 10 years since i made the epic journey from Beaulieu sur Mer, I’ve seen dozens of contractors come and go, some leaving lifetime friendships, some shady people living in our sunny place, i was glad to say adieu to. In that same ten years, I’ve seen couples meet, fall in love, get married and have children. To mention but a few, I’ve been to weddings uniting New Zealanders and English, Welsh and Australians, Australians and English, English And Irish. Scottish and Spanish. Some whom after leaving Villefranche travelled thousands of miles back to tie the knot in this beautiful magnetic town. I’m happy to say that they are still all happily married, or as one of the aforementioned parties likes to say “she’s happy, I’m married’. (to be continued)
